Go Ahead And Confuse Yourself

A friend sent me this silly thing to make you laugh - try it!

While sitting, lift your right foot off the floor and make CLOCKWISE circles. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it. Silly, isn't it?

Dear Jean,

A warm hello to you - and Happy Holiday Season! Are you doing what I'm doing, already pondering 2005 New Year's resolutions?

I hope you enjoy this month's tips. Please note that at the bottom of this page, there is a "forward" to a friend option, if you'd like to share my tips with them. As always, best wishes to you!

Jean, what IS a Virtual Assistant?

I'm having so much fun building my business, Virtual Assistant JEANius. It is a whole different world to enter the networking, marketing and mutual-referral interaction that small business owners are doing. I am meeting so many folks; it's active, very active.

However, because the V.A. career is still relatively new, there are lots of questions about it. "WHAT is it, again?" is something I often hear. Well, marketing expert Alexandria Brown, the Ezine Queen, talks about virtual assistance in her article, "Why Are You Doing Everything Yourself?" It's a nice explanation about partnering with a Virtual Assistant.

You can ask the Queen! (grin) Here's the link...

Take Care of Yourself

It's winter, so cold and flu season is here. As you may recall, I'm a certified CPR, First Aid and Disease Prevention Instructor - and I want to remind you about your MONGA BIG way to avoid getting sick.

Yeah, you guessed it - washing your hands. Yep, washing your hands - OFTEN.

Run a quick exercise with yourself: 1) pretend to sneeze on your hand, then 2) walk around the room doing your normal stuff. You'll find you touched a door knob, your pen, the remote control, light switch, table top, rubbed your eye... Every one of these surfaces "got" your sneeze droplets.

Other folks are doing the same thing, spreading the virus. Get what you've touched off your hands - often. A Stay Healthy Recipe: 1) wash hands often 2) vigorous friction for 15 seconds (not 2 or 3 seconds like we tend to do) OR 3) apply anti- bacterial gel to your hands through your day if you can't wash them. It's a great alternative.

My best wishes that you have a healthy, happy winter season!

Holiday Catering - An easy tip

As you have fun entertaining this holiday season, I'd like to remind you of an easy tip to make a more attractive buffet table. My catering friend reminded me of this - use different levels for the food you're displaying.

This is how you make levels: simply place bowls upside down under your tablecloth. Then you can set food bowls on top - the different levels for your food bowls, centerpiece, etc., make a much more attractive visual presentation. Simple tip, but nice results.
