Cats Helping Birds... How Nice!
To be truthful, the cats don't
KNOW they're helping the birds. YOU
are actually the one helping them,
by commandeering some of your cat's
fur - or your dog's. And,
apparently, the mane and tail hair
of horses is highly preferred.
What am I talking about? I'm talking
about nest building - it's
Springtime! My veterinarian first
suggested this great idea to me -
so, I've attached a web site for you
to learn more about what bird
specialists recommend to help our
feathered friends get a jump on
their nesting season.
Brush your pet during this shedding
season, but don't throw away the
ball of fur. Instead, set the fluff
of fur on your lawn or tucked in the
crevice of a tree or bush. The birds
are eager to add soft textures to
their nests - and the newly hatched
baby birds are very, very happy to
nestle into the luxury.
Go ahead - give your pets a chance
to "volunteer"!
