The Flurry of the Approaching Holidays

The Holidays are coming up quickly - and what a joyful time! We connect with friends, family, eat great food, party down, receive gifts - yee ha!

Yet, true, we can overload this joyful time with pressures we layer onto it -- 'have to' purchase perfect gifts, 'have to' entertain in a certain way, 'have to'... sigh...

I urge you to be kind to yourself by NOT doing that -- and to take a message from Maya Angelou. Somewhat recently I was lucky enough to hear Ms. Angelou speak, here in Denver. Her message is so clear, strong and beautiful. She recommends that, since each and every one of us is wholly unique and wonderful, we "let our light shine".

Dr. Angelou came out on stage, smiled at our enthusiastic welcome, and then quietly began to sing, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine..." From there, she painted pictures of folks' good efforts, which seemed small and unlikely to affect anyone's life, but which did, ultimately, profoundly touch someone's life. You may not know who you move deeply by being yourself.

It's the holiday season - a perfect time to just be YOU, the best YOU you can be -- by letting your light shine. Being you, in conjunction with engaging in voluntary simplicity, will make for a mahvelous holiday season. I wish just that for you!

Dear Jean,

Best wishes to you!

As a Virtual Assistant to successful entrepreneurs and small business owners, I offer business support and new ideas to my clients as they sculpt their goal of a strong and healthy business and personal life. We have many areas of our life, so I hope my tips help to give nurturing ideas to a range of them.

Please note that at the bottom of this page, there is a forward-to-a-friend option, if you'd like to share my tips with them. As always, best wishes to you!

"What do you want out of life?"

We ask this question often -- and long to answer it clearly and easily. We simmer and stew about it. What do I WANT? What do I VALUE?

Martha Beck, life coach, suggests a way to break up a 'stuck' sense with that question by asking a different question. She advises, "What do I want out of life? Now put it a different way: What do I yearn for? The second question usually yields a different answer from the first because yearning comes from a different place - not from the mind and will but from the heart and soul. You may want fame but yearn to feel valued...".

I know what I yearn for -- inspiration from stories that bolster my joy in life and my strength and resiliency. I want to share with you a source I've found called Spiritual Cinema Circle. You can subscribe for a free 30-day trial to this subscription film club calling themselves, "the world's first transformational DVD-of-the-month club".

Television, cable, movies -- it can be such a desert. There's hope. These films, sometimes 20 minutes in length, are award-winning movies delivered to your home each month. I invite you to click to their web site. Bon Voyage!

Coolest Little Gadget - I love it!

Oh, man... Can you believe it? This combines the wonderful world of post-it notes with a bulletin board -- and easily kept WITH PENS right by the phone and taking up so little space.

Sigh... Gadgets that streamline, gadgets that simplify and save time, gadgets that are just plain cute. You simply need this gadget...

Hmmmmm?

Martha is MAHvelous

I invite you to enjoy the wise life coaching of Dr. Martha Beck, via her column written monthly for Oprah Winfrey's "O" magazine. Her articles are delightfully written and a great support tool you can access easily on the "O" site.

About Jean

As a Virtual Assistant, I partner with entrepreneurs who'd like to spend more time performing their expertise, not working on operational, administrative, or promotional tasks. That's where I fit in.

If you or someone you know would like to delegate tasks that cause "the most pain" each month, or that are neglected because of that aversion - that's where I fit in.

I invite you to contact me with questions, suggestions for my newsletter, names of overly busy people who'd like to be referred to me, or just to say 'hi'. Please email me - or click my web site link. Be Well!
